Family: Mustard (Brassicaceae) Biennial or overwintering annual, requiring 60 to 65 days to maturity of roots. Organic biotill radish germinates well in cold soils (45 degree F minimum) of fall or spring. The deeply excavating roots break up hardpan and improve soil tilth. Good forage value for domestic stock and wildlife. Excellent choice for rejuvenating overtilled, clay, hardpan and/or otherwise tired soils. Attracts earthworms. Establishes a fast cover (germination may occur as quickly as 3 days after sowing the seeds), blanketing the soil against sun exposure and erosion. Scavenges nitrogen that might otherwise leach away, then re-introduces the nitrogen when the plants are mowed and allowed to compost back down. Growing a radish covercrop prepares the seedbed for subsequent crops, oxygenates and rejuvenates the soil. Take care of your soil as you would your body. You feed the soil, the soil feeds you, in a way the soil is. . . you. Coverage: 1 lb covers 500 square feet Seed count: 1 lb contains ~78,000 seeds Certified Organically Grown
