Family:  Buckwheat (Polygonaceae) Hardy to Zones 5 to 9 (Chinese Glasshouse Plant)  Native to Tibet, this is a high altitude medicinal rhubarb that produces a spire of overlapping transparent scales.  Very rare in the trade. The plant is tolerant of clay soils and prefers a full sun position with moist, fertile, poorly drained soil.  Sow in spring.  Prick seedlings into gallon pots and grow for a year, then transplant to garden or landscape. 10 seeds/pkt, Open-pollinated, Untreated, NO GMOs
